Interested in becoming a portfolio reviewer?

AIGA New Mexico is committed to providing diverse and skilled reviewers for the HIRED Portfolio Review on April 4th, 2020 and will be accepting reviewer applications until April 1st, 2020.

AIGA New Mexico has been organizing portfolio reviews since 2012. Every year, we invite professionals to spend half a day reviewing the work of students and junior designers. These reviewers can be art directors, graphic designers, marketing professionals, UI/UX designers, illustrators or anyone else who works closely with design. We also encourage companies who are currently hiring to participate in this event or attend our networking happy hour event after the reviews.

Why should you become a reviewer?

As a part of the design industry in New Mexico, you are influencing the growth and development of our state. Together, we can improve the skills of the upcoming workforce and prepare them for work before they even start the job. We’re looking toward industry leaders and educators to lead the way.

AIGA New Mexico’s goals for HIRED are:

  • To help improve the quality of applicants in our region.
  • To elevate the practice of design to compete with a larger industry.

Students and junior designers attending HIRED will be a group of hard-working individuals who are looking for real-world mentorship. Perhaps you received some key advice at this stage in your career? Join us for this opportunity to pay it forward to the next generation of creative problem solvers.

HIRED Portfolio Review April 4, 2020 at CNM Montoya

What to Expect:

The HIRED Portfolio Review will take place on April 4th, 2020 and start with a casual meet and greet over coffee and breakfast and then a lecture by our guest speaker. After that, reviews will go for about two hours and each individual portfolio will last 15-20 minutes. Portfolios will likely be both print and digital and come from many backgrounds.

We will provide some simple identifiers for students and designers who have already started in their field so that reviewers have an idea of what stage the reviewees are at in their careers.

After our portfolio review, we will have a networking and happy hour event and encourage reviewers and hiring companies to mingle with attendees.
