Startup Weekend comes to Albuquerque, NM

Startup Weekend returns to New Mexico the weekend of June 21st – 23rd in downtown Albuquerque for this high intensity 54-hour venture creation event.

Designers, developers, entrepreneurs! Startup Weekend is coming to Albuquerque, NM!

“When we held the event in Santa Fe back in March, we didn’t know what to expect, but the response was great.

We had over 60 people participate (including people from, Los Alamos, Taos, Albuquerque and even Las Cruces). They gave over 30 pitches and formed 11 teams from whom we got 9 final pitch/demos.

Of those, four are proceeding in some form and at least two have received some funding.

It all proved to me why Startup Weekend has become the world’s most popular and successful event for bringing teams together to create viable startups.”

Startup Weekends are weekend-long, 54-hour events where developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch startups! On average, half of Startup Weekend’s attendees have technical or design backgrounds, the other half have business backgrounds.

Beginning with open mic pitches on Friday, attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Over Saturday and Sunday teams focus on customer development, validating their ideas, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies and building a minimal viable product. On Sunday evening teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts.
