The AIGA New Mexico chapter is currently seeking nominations for open board positions effective June 1, 2013. We’re looking for dedicated individuals who feel that they are ready to give back to the growing design community in New Mexico.
Serving on the board of AIGA is an exciting opportunity that gets you out in the community, promoting professional growth and experience. Board members serve and represent a part of a growing community that has helped build AIGA. We strive to providing leadership on a chapter level, but also help shape the understanding and value of our profession. POSITIONS AVAILABLE ABQ EVENTS DIRECTOR Event Director works to plan events within Albuquerque specifically. often collaborating with the Santa Fe Events Director with select events. Particularly responsible with establishing and tracking event budgets (work with Bookkeeper), and time management; and assist in securing speakers, sponsors and venues when needed. CHAPTER ADMINISTRATION The Secretary works with the President, Vice President, and Treasurer to review event proposals and budgets, make decisions regarding Chapter policy, and provide guidance for the Board of Directors and the Chapter as a whole. The Secretary is responsible for keeping all Board members up-to-date on pertinent dates and details. DEVELOPMENT Seeking socialite; creative person who wants to meet people, make connections and build membership. COMMUNICATIONS The Communications chair is responsible for the direction of the website. He/she will work closely with the national office in regards to the hosting of the local site. They work closely with each board member as a liaison for information to be added as content to the web, as well as promoting events and news across social media. VOLUNTEERS Volunteers are members who are interested in contributing to the operations of the chapter. They are appointed positions and they serve at will or on an as needed basis.
